PATAGONIA NATIONAL PARK PROJECT
November and December News
Happy 2012 from the future Patagonia National Park!
Conservacion Patagonica rang in the new year over a big asado at the new Camping Westwinds (see photo below), where team members and friends shared songs, poems, and thoughts for the dawning year. The campground’s ready for visitors–and has been packed full recently. If you’re curious about making a trip yourself, write to email@example.com for details.
With plenty of hot, dry weather, we’ve jumped into our busiest season yet. The new Lagunas Altas trail has received much foot traffic, and we’re hatching plans for the next trail up for construction. Our calendar’s filling up with Chilean politicians, journalists, and scientists coming to learn more about the future park. The construction team is making rapid process on the magnificent Aysen Natural History and Education Center. And our hardy volunteers keep busy with fences, exotic species, and other invaluable work.
Thank YOU! Our annual fund drive ended on a high note, with hundreds of generous donors showing their support for this landmark initiative to create a new, biologically critical 650,000-acre national park in Patagonia, open and accessible to all. If you’re interested in joining us, donate here.
